The schedule is designed to be a tri-fold document which uses one sheet of 8.5 x 11 printed on both sides. The line items which need to be customized for your show are marked with an asterisk (*).  The first page includes the Horticulture Rules, the Class Descriptions, and the Design Rules.  Start with the column on the left.

Horticulture Rules Column

2. Insert the number of the class or classes which will be judged by a particular scale of points.  For
example, if Class 1 is Tulipa; Class 2,  Narcissus; Class 3, Pinus; Class 4, Ilex; and Class 5, potted African Violets, the scales of points to be used would be:
Flowering:     Classes 1 and 2
Arboreal:       Classes 3 and 4
Containers:    Class 5

6. Insert the description of the staging which will be used for horticulture in your show.

Class Description Column


The top line, replace “Title of Show” with the title of your show.

Line 3, insert the title for your Horticulture Division

Replace the  Example with your Horticulture Section and Class information. You will need a minimum of one Section and five Classes.  You may have more sections and classes as desired, but remember possible time and space limitations. A Section must have 3 or more classes to place a top NGC Award.

Under “Division II, Design”, insert the title of  your Design Division.

On the next line, list any top Club, State, or National Garden Club Awards if they are to be presented.

A Section must contain a minimum of 3 classes to place a top NGC Award

Replace the Example with your Class information including the Title of the class, the number of entries in the class, the theme of the design, the type of design required (optional), the dimensions of the allotted space, and the staging to be used.

Design Rules Column


1. Insert information on who is eligible to enter the show.

7. Insert the day(s) and time(s) when entries will be accepted in the Horticulture and Design Divisions.

Under Awards, list the top awards to be presented, if any, and the page numbers in the Handbook which describe them.

Chairman Column


Insert the title of your show on the top line.

List the Honorary chairman(men) if any.  Include their titles.

List the General Chairman of the show and  her/his phone number.

List the other chairmen and their phone numbers.  (This is a suggested list of possible chairmen and can be changed or consolidated to fit your needs.)

Program Column


Staging, date, time

Entries, date, time

Judging, date, time

Open for viewing, date, time

Dismantling, date, timeI

Cover Column


Top line, insert the title of your show.

Line 5, insert the name of your club

Line 7, insert your district number.

For optional Art Work, you can scan pictures, get pictures off the internet, use pictures included in your software, etc.

List the date or dates for your show, when it will be available to be viewed and who is invited to view it.  This may be the general public, friends of GC members, or just the members themselves.  You must decide this.

State the admission price if there is one. Otherwise indicate that the show is free.

Include the address or name of the venue for the show.

Step 2:



Double Sided Printing Instructions:


1.  Press the printer button on the displayed adobe file.

2.  Print 1st page only by setting your printer options to print page 1 after the printer dialog is displayed.

3.  Re-insert the printed first printed page of the form facing up & in the same direction it came out of the printer.

4.  Print the 2nd page by setting your printer options to print page 2 after the printer dialog is displayed.
